How can simple organic practices help create healthier families and a cleaner environment in Palawan?
It all began with a simple backyard garden, but it didn't stay small for long. Soon grew into a simple step that encouraged many families in the community to practice organic gardening. And more than eliminating inorganic chemicals, communities also learned and showed that healthy and sustainable food production does not always require expensive materials because sometimes, the best resources are already found in our own surroundings.

One inspiring practice of participants in one of the community in Palawan was the use of banana leaves as seedling containers instead of plastic. Since banana plants are common in Palawan, participants maximized what nature could already provide.

The banana leaves became a low-cost and eco-friendly alternative that helped reduce plastic waste while still protecting young seedlings. This simple yet creative idea showed how local resources can be transformed into sustainable farming solutions..jpg)

Simple materials such as banana leaves, dried leaves, and kitchen scraps, egg shells can be transformed into useful tools for planting and natural fertilizers for vegetables.
