Introducing the Global CFaH Project Advisory Committee

Amanda Goodwin, Project Manager

As a multifaceted, interdisciplinary, and complex research project working across four countries, and with input from eight partner institutions, Global CFaH strove to establish an external Project Advisory Committee (PAC) early in the project in order to benefit from the guidance and expertise that the PAC could provide.

The GCFaH PAC is chaired by Ms Judith Ann Frances, who has a wealth of agriculture, development and nutrition experience, most recently holding the post of Senior Programme Coordinator, Science and Technology Policy at the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA), The Netherlands, prior to her retirement. Over the years, Judith has championed agricultural and rural development in Africa, Caribbean and the Pacific and has contributed to strengthening agricultural innovation systems, by building capacity and mobilising resources through inter-disciplinary and multi-stakeholder coalitions.

Together with Judith, the Project Management Team identified ten individuals to invite to the PAC. This selection process was based on an individual's experience working in the subject areas and regions within which GCFaH is active; the Caribbean, SE Asia and Pacific.

The Project Management Team was pleased to welcome PAC members to the project in March 2023, when we held our first meeting online. This was followed by a meeting in October 2023, with a commitment from the PAC to meet twice a year in order to provide timely feedback and guidance to the project.
